Day one in Reyjavik
After a long trip from Australia, I landed into
Reykjavik yesterday afternoon on Iceland Air. I've flown them a few times and I
really like them, great staff, food and the planes they use are excellent. My
only regret is, I couldn't stay in Reykjavik longer but given the time frames I
worked with to get here, I think I did well to squeeze 24 hours in before I
board SH Vega!
This is my
3rd visit to Reykjavik and it won’t be my last, I really love this place. I
ventured out to my favourite place last night, the Apotek wine bar and restaurant,
its kind of the place to be, amazing food, cocktails and service. I faded early
as I was exhausted from my travels to get here. Normally travelling to Europe,
I would stop in Dubai for a couple of nights but on this trip, I didn't have
the time.
I started
the day with a swim at the local outdoor pool just to get things working. Spent
the morning at my other favourite place, the Sand hotels café bakery, they have
the best pastries and well worth the visit. Of course, a trip to Reykjavik
wouldn't be complete without some shopping!
Getting
ready to transfer to SH Vega, looking forward to revisiting Greenland, the story
continues.
